Formula 1 Calendar 2009

This spreadsheet is basically the same with the previous spreadsheet that I made for F1 Calendar 2008, except all driver and team information are still not completed because F1 regulator haven’t release their official press release regarding the team and driver for 2009 calendar. But, the race schedule is already fixed and there will be 17 races available for year 2009.

You can fill the driver and the team manually in this spreadsheet after all information are officially announced. And I remove all password protected worksheet, so you can easily unprotect the sheet if you want to learn about the formula I used.

If you want to get update about F1 information, there 2 sites that I usually visit and also been used as my reference on creating this sheet, those are www.formula1.com and www.f1-live.com

You can download the file here.

Hi, I’m not able to shuffle the driver’s around so their car number matches. For example Adrian Sutil (Force India) is down as No. 16 and when try to swap his position so he is showing No. 20, on the Team and Driver Standing tab it shows # N/A. This also applies to all other drivers who’s number doesn’t correspond.
    Please advise, Thanks.

Excellent, better than the wall chart I received with F1 magazine. It’s almost time for the season to start!

    ahem … another problem.
Sepang! half points to drivers and teams.

  14. John on April 6th, 2009 12:52 pm

TYesterday we had a race, Malaysia, that gave half points. Is there anyway to adjust for this?

  15. Lynda on April 6th, 2009 1:43 pm

Hi, how do I amend to put in half points (Malaysia). Great chart, thanks.

    Lynda

  16. admin on April 6th, 2009 4:13 pm

To Lynda and John and other people that needs to put Sepang points to the table, you can do this step :

    - In “Race Result” worksheet, go to Menu > Tools > Protection > Unprotect Sheet
    - Go to cell E23 – E30 which is the points for Sepang race and change the points which is half of usual points
    - You can go protect the worksheet again or leave it unprotected
    - Go to “Team and Driver Standings” worksheet, unprotect the worksheet, and adjust column “I” by extend it using your mouse so it can display the points correctly. If you are not adjusting the column, the sum of the points is still correct, but it doesn’t display you the correct display.

Hi, nice template! Is possible complete the race result to 20 drivers?. It’s important know all the positions to calculate de final standings and resolve the position of the “0 point drivers”.

    Thank you

  20. Nick on May 10th, 2009 1:30 pm

Hi again, could you please explain how the dummy table standings sheet works? On my copy it is blank! I’m trying to adapt the sheet to work in another series and so have changed all of the drivers and am trying to adapt the sheet to work with 3 classes in each race…Very confusing!

    Nick

  21. Nick on May 10th, 2009 1:51 pm

Ok ignore that! Figured it out!

  22. Nick Simpson on May 10th, 2009 5:04 pm

Hi, do you think you could drop me an email? I would really like some advice on adding the 3 class breakdown to your template if at all possible?

    Thanks

    Nick

  23. Gordon Tatler on June 19th, 2009 8:54 pm

Just seen this spreadsheet. Great. Saw comments about changing to half points for Sepang race, which worked OK, but would point out that the number of wins for Button (who came first in Sepang and gained 5 points) is incorrect as the formulae only count up the 10 point cells.

To solve this FOR THIS PARTICULAR RACE go to the standings page and go to G6. Change =COUNTIF(H7:X7,10) to =COUNTIF(H7:X7,10)+COUNTIF(I7,5).

    Hope this helps.

By the way, why not change the driver’s full names to their surnames and then sort the complete table on the team and driver sheet into driver name order. Re-enter any race results. This makes it MUCH easier to enter results.

  24. Gordon Tatler on June 19th, 2009 8:56 pm

Ops ! I missed out an important instruction. After changing G6 above, copy the cell and paste it into g7 to G25.

    Sorry about that.
