Monthly Calendar

This monthly calendar is an extension of monthly event calendar 2009 I have made a year ago. There are many improvements I have made in this calendar. Compare to the previous one, this calendar can accommodate until 6 to-do list or events at the same dates. And you still can put additional one holiday or one important event on top of the row. And there are additional columns where you can put your time consideration of those events or you can leave it blanks.

Monthly Calendar

There are two worksheets that are shown in this spreadsheet, the first one is “todo-holiday-event” worksheet. And you can start to use it as your 2010 monthly calendar by setting the month and the year in the first rows of this worksheet to January 2010. You change it according to your preference. After that, you can put your to-do list in to-do list column. You can use  this list as your reminder list also. For example, you can put your favorite movies schedule, your concert show, your favorite sport teams schedule etc. And you don’t have to type it in sequence, because the excel formula will display and order it automatically in the calendar. So, you can add it anytime without thinking of ordering the dates.

The second column is a holiday column. There are US holidays time that I put as a default. You can change it based on your country national holiday, or your own private holiday. The description of the holiday will be displayed next to the date of the calendar and the row of that date will turn into red.

Monthly Calendar Setup

The third column is an important event column. In case you want to separate your important event with your to-do list, like your birthday or your beloved one birthday, you can put it in here where the event will be displayed differently in the calendar. It will be displayed next to the date of the calendar with blue color. It will share the place with the holiday information. So, if the important event and holiday are happened at the same date, the important event will become priority to be displayed.

The second worksheet is a calendar worksheet where you can see your customize calendar before you print it. There is a slider tool on top of the calendar that you can use to slide between months. You can slide it right to go to the next month and slide it left to go back.

That’s all guys. You can download it here.

is it possible to increase the number of holidays and important events?

  8. lad on January 6th, 2010 7:17 pm

Yes, I have the same questions as those above: can I increase the number of holidays, etc, and most importantly, why does the last week and a half have #NAME? instead of the day? Thanks.

  9. lad on January 6th, 2010 8:32 pm

FYI…For the #NAME? issue, you need to install the Analysis ToolPak add-in.

  10. Nipa on January 7th, 2010 6:52 pm

where can I find the analysis toolpak?

  11. Rory on January 8th, 2010 11:42 am

    This is really nice form!
I will work nicely but, I would like to add 5 more columns to the calendar. Could you please provide the password?
    Thank You, Rory

  12. Modzy on January 9th, 2010 7:47 am

You Guy should read the direction Firstly. You just add on Events and Holiday in to-do list. Then those will appear in the Calendar autometically. Just add on to do list. ^_^

  13. Mark on January 13th, 2010 2:25 am

Hi! Maay I please have the password. Thank You

  14. R. Musadya on January 19th, 2010 3:24 am

For those who has #NAME problems :

Activate analysis toolpak add-ins in your excel. Go to excel menu > tools > add-ins and tick the analysis toolpak. And all function should work correctly. If you still have problem after following these steps, just close your excel and open it again.

    Regards

  15. Anand on January 25th, 2010 9:38 pm

    Hi

By adding the analysis “toolpak”. It still does not take care of the “#Name” problems in the last few rows. Any fixes for that.

    Thanks

This works great…is there any way to have more than 6 task per day. I need up to 20..

  19. stephanie on March 20th, 2010 12:30 am

This is great! Exactly what I need but would love to have the password because I need to add additional rows to the date (have more than 6 events in a day). Additionally, I have over 700 events and this calendar only takes up to 250 events.

Hi, Love the template, but the calendar lines prints out too lightly on my black and white printer. I would like to be able to modify the borders so they print out more darkly; can’t see them as is.

Also, encountered a strange copy paste issue when I copied a group of dates/descriptions to the task area (dates were mysteriously shifted by 1 day and 4 years)

I would very much appreciate your help in modifying this excel template into a limited reservation list.
I work for a very large hospital, and we would like to use it as a backup list for patients who attend our clinic.
Please contact me if you are interested. I am sure the demand for this type of calender list is enormous.

Is there any way of making the fonts larger or bold?

  33. Catherine on August 5th, 2010 9:26 am

This may sound like a foolish question, but in daily planner, once I have set up my holidays and important dates, how do a go to the next day and set up that day – . Can you tell I am new to excel. My husband and I just started running a hockey rink with one ice surface and need to schedule the ice time starting at 6:00am and ending at 11:00pm, each slot bing only 50 minutes. with the next ice time starting on the hour. I feel so inept with excel!!! Scarry to think that I learned on a WANG – they are in the smithsonian now!

    Thanks for any help.

To fix the #NAME error in the 2nd month of the calendar on “Supporting Calendar”, just go into the cell in B14, click F2 and hit Enter.

Not sure why, but it just needs to be recalculated for it to work.

  46. Sean on February 8th, 2011 5:48 pm

To unprotect any sheet, just go to Protection > Unprotect sheet. There is no password required.

  53. Amber on November 18th, 2011 3:11 am

I was curious about your monthly calendar if there was a way to make the monthly one a bill pay calendar. I like the way the data entry part works. Is it possible to make the time a “Balance due” or “Amnt Paid” and then on the right hand side of the calendar it will give you an up to date balance of all of your bills? I’m not sure I’m explaining this well lol.

Just one question, can I add more worksheet, if yes, how can I modify the formula

    thanks again

  58. Desmond on June 20th, 2012 3:05 am

Answers to these 2 possibly very simple questions would help me immensely in my work:

    - Can I enter a date range (e.g. 20/6/12 – 25/6/12) such that it would be reflected in the Calendar tab?

    - How can I get the calendar to show more than 7 events?

Thanks in advance to the good Samaritans!

Hi there – any chance you could help re: the formatting of additional holidays and events? Have worked out how to get it to pick them up from my lists, but not the formatting in red or blue. Thanks!
